If you havent already, you are probably going to hear a lot about the Gameover Zeus virus. If not from the mainstream media then from friends and relatives forwarding on posts from here and elsewhere. Do Not Panic. But, at the same time, dont just ignore it. If you are sensible about opening emails and following links then you are going a long way to being safe. If you dont have a virus checker on your machine, install one. Persoinally, I use avast! antivirus (avast) which you can install for nothing and is VERY GOOD. However, there are lots of other products. The point is, you should have something installed. If you EVER receive an email from an individual or organisation telling you that you need to follow a link to change your security details, DO NOT CLICK ON IT. Normally banks and the like wont do this, however, if you feel that you do need to change the details an organisation has for you, open a NEW browser window and manually time in the website address yourself. That was you know where you are being taken. A link can say its taking you, for example to yourbank, but, in reality, you could end up on a page made to look like the banks home page but on some dodgy server somewhere. Viruses and phishing scams are there to catch the unprepared. Dont be one of them.
