If you havent fallen off a horse, then you havent been riding long enough. At least this is how the saying goes. Does it count when your horse spooks, jumps into the highway, youre riding English and have nothing to hang on to? Or perhaps going across the yard, your horse apparently sees or smells something, she bolts to the right but you keep going straight, you hit the ground, does that count? (Of course, if you had kept your feet in the stirrup things may have ended differently.) Or, your horse trips, tries to catch herself but tumbles to the ground anyway? If these qualify, Ive managed to be riding long enough! No ambulance was called, no medic truck flagged down nor helicopter summoned but I now have confidence it doesnt matter my hair is not blonde and my eyes are not blue, Benny Peoples loves me just the same! No broken bones and the horse is fine! Nothing a good hug didnt help!! Benny, did I rider er down in style?
