If you havent heard about the latest cyber assault, its Heartbleed. Some say you should immediately change all your passwords, while others say you should wait a bit and make sure the organizations have solved the problem or else your new passwords can be vulnerable. This has been in the wild for two years already (spreading as a result of normal day-to-day operations on and between the computers of unsuspecting users). So Im not sure why, all of the sudden, everyone is in a panic. There are several semi-comprehensible articles written about it, but maybe a good first step is to ID which of your account holders (banks, Yahoo, Facebook) and others with your sensitive information, have patched their systems, reset your passwords or create passphrases and keep an eye on your accounts. I have read a few explanations, but the one below seems to summarize it nicely.
