If you havent heard, the FDA has cracked down on 3 essential oils companies in a very big and threatening way. Our podcast host Julie Behling-Hovdal of Essential Survival has been forced to shut down her website, and Im sure she wont be the last. If you are a fan of essential oils, as I am, you may want to track down the health benefits of your favorite oils and print them out or save them to your hard drive. Im a born skeptic but my family and I have personally benefitted from using such oils as lavender, Thieves, and many more. Apparently, the FDA is going to make it all but impossible for folks to know what the potential benefits are. Side effects from the use of essential oils are minimal, and yet according to this article there are 450 deaths a year just from acetaminophen! You should also know that the FDA is keeping an eye on social media when it comes to the use of essential oils, just in case you thought social media was just a fun way to keep in touch with friends and post cool things you find online.
