Billy is an amazing yoga teacher and person and hell be teaching at Uptown on Wed. at 7:30pm and next Sunday at 4:45pm. ... Billy was born and raised in Solon, Ohio and currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts where he is pursuing a degree in medicine. Although he began his yoga practice at the age of 12 under the guidance of his mother, it wasnt until he took his first Baptiste yoga class at Cleveland Yoga in 2008 that he fell in love with the practice. The practice challenged him in such a novel way that he knew he had stumbled upon something that would be ultimately life changing. Over the past few years he has trained with Baron Baptiste attending Baptiste Level One and Two trainings as well as Art of Assisting. Through his training and practice, he has fallen in love with how the physical and meditative aspects of his yoga practice apply directly to his life off the mat. He is passionate about bringing yoga to the communities that need it most which inspired his recent role on the leadership board of the Africa Yoga Project, a non-profit organization based in Kenya that trains African yoga teachers as a means to create jobs. Billy teaches a demanding but playful class that has his students challenging themselves both physically and mentally.
