If you havent watched Dain Saids Bunohan, catch it. Its one of the best pieces of Malaysian cinema Ive seen, and I was blown away by the directing, the acting, the cinematography, the score and the sheer quality that exudes from every frame. This isnt for the action and adrenaline inclined - its borderline art-house, and Bunohan is one of the rare occasions that it actually works. The movie slow burns right up to the end, its claws digging visually and aurally deeper and deeper with each sweeping widescreen shot of the stunning landscape and rural life in the town of Bunohan, and the entities that inhabit it, both human and spiritual. I only hope there will be more from Dain - this to me is a landmark of Malaysian cinema, one that deserves more than a single viewing. Well done man, bloody well done. #Bunohan
