If you ignore the PR elements from the Israeli Defence establishment which the Israeli media faithfully reproduces the only thing new in this story is the availability of the names of the alleged suspects. We know that the Shabak knew their identity because in line of the usual practices of the Only Democracy™, they arrested their wives when they couldnt find them. Something the media reported. The Shabak raided their home on the basis of information handed to them on a silver platter by the Palestinian Authoritys own security apparatus who informed the Israelis that the two men had disappeared from their home on the night of the kidnapping. This really makes a mockery of the the petition presented to the Australian Parliament asking the Australian government to convey to the Palestinian Authority that it should “cooperate and coordinate with Israeli authorities” to secure the release of the abductees. What more do they want the PA to do? Just shows you what happens when you blindly follow the Israeli governments talking points. Finally as Dimi Reider points out in his introduction to the Hebrew edition of this item: Like I and others said on day 3, two Hamas guys almost certainly acting on their own. haaretz/news/diplomacy-defense/.premium-1.601560
