If you know how to write, an article is a cakewalk. Beyond your linguistic smoothness or flourish, however, the reader expects some novelty, not armchair commentary. Therefore, pack in some news. Better said than done! Reporting is not the calling of non-journalistic professionals. Even editors on desk job, who do not have a big political or business circle to go around in, can only say the same thing over and over again in different words. Therefore, add some well-researched information to your piece, or at least a new angle of looking at your pet subject. My two cents to all those trying to create, or contribute to, alternative media: What are you telling the subscriber that he didnt know already?
