If you know you would benefit, either directly or indirectly, from a lie and action undertaker by your local of government, would you speak up and denounce the action, or would you just sit silently and allow your community to bear the burden of the cost that the action and lie will generate? There was no such conscience stirring among many of my friends in my birth hometown of Wheeling, WV, when city officials connived with the leadership of the local Catholic Church and some heretofore reputable citizenry, to build a sports field, at public expense even invoking the right of eminent domain, for the benefit of the local Catholic High School. The facade of community well being, that some wear on their sleeve, quickly dissolves when they benefit from inappropriate and illegal government activity. I am sorry for my friends.
