If you like your ____ , you can still keep your ____ , no one - TopicsExpress

If you like your ____ , you can still keep your ____ , no one wants to take your ____ away from you (fill in the blank with, doctor, health plan, local control, freedom, guns, control of election process, etc.). This kind of crap has worked for them in the past, but the more that we wake up to their tactics the harder it is for them to fool us. I am talking about the leftist tactic of proposing seemingly benign, national solutions to artificial problems, or problems the left created themselves (e.g. 50 years of federal involvement in education with the elementary and secondary education act which coincides with stagnation of test scores across the country). They have NO authority to impose their will upon us because in 99% of the issues raised, the law gives authority to the states. Common Core is a national program designed to steal authority from the states. Leftists are bribing our state leaders to relinquish their power to them. As George Will says, it is the thin edge of an enormous wedge of federal power. As one leftist dirtbag politician phrased it once the camels nose gets under the tent, the rest of the camel will soon follow. If the Leftists can fool us into granting them authority where they have none, they have won. Then the kid gloves will come off and they will do as they please. Conservative pundit George Will delivered a fierce attack on Common Core last night, characterizing the educational standards as a way for progressives to further promote their political views. “This is a thin end of an enormous wedge of federal power that will be wielded for the constant progressive purpose of concentrating power in Washington so that it can impose continental solutions to problems nationwide,” Will said on Fox News’ “Special Report.” He also warned Americans that the federal standards posed a significant threat to local autonomy. “The advocates of the Common Core say, if you like local control of your schools, you can keep it, period. If you like your local curriculum you can keep it, period, and people don’t believe them for very good reasons,” Will remarked.
