If you live in Texas, this debate is significantly more important - TopicsExpress

If you live in Texas, this debate is significantly more important than anything happening in 2016, and is much more important to watch compared to the previous Obama v.s Romney debates. That being said, heres my opinion in regard to the debate as well as politics in general: Many of you are going to watch this and immediately side with the one that represents the party you identifiy with. This is wrong. For those who dont know already, George Washington was the only Independent president this country has ever had, and he was also the only person to receive every single electoral vote. In George Washingtons Farewell Address, he begs the people not to form parties, because however [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion. Sucks, doesnt it? As far as this debate goes: I do side with Senator Wendy Davis. However, Attorney General Greg Abbott is, like President Barack Obama was, a much better speaker than his opponent, but I think its worth mentioning that Abbott has been in the game for quite a bit longer, and that Davis spoke wonderfully in Denton without the pressure of debate. Although she makes good points against Abbott, she proves herself the loser by doing so all too often, while Abbott essentially ignores her *correct* accusations and instead takes his anger out on Obama (which is exactly what his demographic wants him to do, yall. DEFUND OBAMACARE!!!!!!!!!!). He even brings back the ol bad promise maker argument, despite the fact that A. Obama has a lot to do because his job is a bit more time consuming than Abbotts, and B. Though the president has actually very clearly come through with many promises (contrary to popular belief), the unfortunate state of our Congress doesnt really allow for much change, and even less hope. Theres my couple of Lincolns.
