If you look at the history of farm labor in the United States, its a history of exploitation. So many of these abuses wouldnt be tolerated if these workers had blonde hair and blue eyes. Whether you accept it or not, your past isnt so different from others present. I remember being a little kid on road trips to Texas and Ohio and my parents explaining that the little tin shacks in the middle of fields are where families who pick the farms lived. Whole families...one room shacks. Where my parents lived at one point. Were talking about abject slavery. People shackled at nights in chains. People being bought and sold for cash money on the side of the road.
