If you look at the messages James Franco sent, hes putting a lot of pressure on the 17 year old girl to make a decision right away. Its not a gradual, informed choice for consent - its like hes dangling Yes or no over her head. And hes using his fame as a bargain chip for coerced consent. Look at the power dynamic of the posts/texts. Hes basically using his own popularity as a form of pressure. Even if 17 and 35 is legal in both areas, what hes doing is very creepy.
