If you missed hearing my discussion on WYPR 88.1FM (Maryland Morning) where I spoke about the importance of the Day of Service and I emphasized that today was not supposed to be just a Day of Rest, a Day of Sales, a Day of Television, or a Day of Facebook, below is the podcast. I believe that the day of service should be the first step towards living a life in the service of others. I also draw comparisons between Dr. King and Tata Madiba (see my blog post at kayewisewhitehead/2013/12/16/for-mongi-omkhulu-leita-phakathi-and-tata-madiba-nelson-mandela/) I posed this question on WYPR and again during the Mandela Teach-In at Loyola: if you are not protesting for change and working to make the world a better place, what are you doing with your life?
