If you plan on being in the Simmons College area this evening for any events or classes, please take note of the following advisory as e-mailed to all Simmons community members regarding the World Series Game 6 at Fenway Park. (It is long, but please take a moment to read through as it may effect your plans) Dear Simmons Community: The Boston Police Department communicated this afternoon that they have added some additional road closures for Wednesday nights Red Sox game. They now intend to close some streets adjacent to the Main Campus at the start of the 7th inning. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. The Simmons garage will remain open and classes are being held. Traffic exiting our garage will be directed across Palace Rd toward Evans Way if exiting on the Palace Rd side and left onto Avenue Louis Pasteur toward Longwood Ave if exiting toward Louis Pasteur AFTER the 7th inning shutdown. Public Safety details will be on the driveway to assist in exiting the garage as needed. Classes, labs and programs will continue as scheduled unless otherwise noted by individual faculty or program planners. Please see the traffic advisory from MASCO below: PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF THE RED SOX CLINCHING A WORLD SERIES TITLE IN EITHER GAME 6 OR GAME 7, THE CITY IS PLACING ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS ON PARKING AND TRANSIT IN THE AREA. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION DURING GAME DAYS. IF YOU HAVE TO DRIVE, PATRONS PARKED AT THE MASCO OPERATED GARAGES AND LOTS MUST EXIT PRIOR TO 9:00 PM (EARLIER IF POSSIBLE). AFTER THAT TIME WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO EXIT THE FENWAY AREA. THE CITY IS IMPOSING A COMPLETE STREET SHUT DOWN AFTER THE 7TH INNING WHICH WILL STAY IN EFFECT UNTIL APPROXIMATLY 2 HOURS AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE GAME. DURING THIS TIME, CARS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO EXIT THE LOTS. Please be advised of the following roadway restrictions: At 8:15 PM No motor vehicle traffic on: o Brookline Ave., from Park Drive to Kenmore Sq. o Ipswich St., from Charles Gate East to Van Ness St. o Yawkey Way, from Boylston St. to Brookline Ave. o Lansdowne St., from Brookline Ave to Ipswich St. Additional road closures after the 7th inning: •No through traffic on Brookline between Longwood Avenue and the Fenway – traffic will be permitted to access Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center •Fenway – closed between Evans Way and Park Drive (will remain open to traffic between Evans Way north towards Forsyth Street) •Avenue Louis Pasteur – closed heading towards the Fenway •Palace Rd – no traffic onto the Fenway •Park Drive – closed from the Fenway towards Boylston Please be advised of the following parking restrictions between 4pm and 2am: •Bay State Road:*Both sides, from Beacon St. to Granby Street. •Beacon Street: Both sides, form Kenmore Square to Park Drive •Boylston Street: Both sides, from Mass. Ave, to Park Drive (Brookline Ave./Boylston St.) •Brookline Avenue: Both sides, from Beacon Street (Kenmore Square) to Park Drive •Burlington Street: Both sides, from Brookline Avenue to the Dead End •Commonwealth Avenue: Both sides, both roadways, from Massachusetts Avenue to the Boston University Bridge •Deerfield Street: Both sides, from Commonwealth Avenue to Bay State Road •Ipswich Street: Both sides, from Boylston St. (Hemenway) to Boylston Street (Sunoco Gas Station) •Jersey Street: Both sides from Boylston Street to Peterborough Street •Kenmore Square: (in its entirety) Both sides, both roadways, from Kenmore/Raleigh Streets to Deerfield Street/Beacon Streets •Kilmarnock Street: Both sides, from Van Ness Street to Peterborough Street •Lansdowne Street: Both sides, from Brookline Avenue to Boylston Street •Newbury St. Extension Both sides form Beacon St. to Charles Gate West •Park Drive (DCR Roadway): Left side, Left roadway (Roberto Clemente Park side) from Aggassi Road to opposite Kilmarnock Street •Raleigh Street: Both sides from Bay State Road to Commonwealth Avenue •Van Ness Street: Both sides, from Ipswich Street to Kilmarnock Street •Yawkey Way: Both sides, from Boylston Street to Brookline Avenue •Fullerton Street: Both sides, from Brookline Avenue to the Dead End •Overland Street: Both sides, from Brookline Avenue to the Dead End •Peterborough Street (in its entirety): Both sides, from Park Drive to Park Drive MBTA: • Additional Green Line trains will be running. • Please expect delays on all local bus routes through the area. • Commuter Rail Yawkey Station trains will run on their regular schedule. In the event the game goes to extra innings, additional trains will run after the completion of the game. • Please consult mbta for additional details.
