If you saw our AM post from earlier this morning, we were uncertain about how the weekend forecast would unfold. If you search for weather forecasts on an app on your phone or from a known weather forecasting company for Sunday, most will have rain included - and even our local forecasts from last night to some extent have the mention of rain possible Sunday. We are now siding with a wet start the 1st half of Saturday, drying out 2nd half, and a partly cloudy Sunday with just an isolated chance of a shower for far NW areas and shore points only. This is NOT what the American models say currently, so likely the automated forecasts that auto-publish to apps and other sources will continue to show rain Sunday. We have decided to side with the consistent foreign models and ensemble solutions which continue to show a mostly dry Sunday. This is important for several reasons: Musikfest forecast, Pocono race is this Sunday, as well as several local bigger venues taking place outdoors.... and undoubtedly some important private/family events for some of you. Current forecast from EPAWA is: Saturday: cloudy, steady rain, some heavy mainly before 2pm, then partial clearing from SW to NE Saturday evening/night: partly cloudy Sunday: Partly cloudy, isolated shower (20%) western sections of NE PA and near shore points.
