If you see a lot of ex-cricketers suddenly having Twitter accounts or becoming active on them, it is because a lot of them have been paid to create a buzz about events like the IPL. They dont disclose this fact as there is no regulation around it yet. Every twitter follower is worth a lot of money these days. Celebrities in various fields have made tons of money this election on Twitter/Facebook by endorsing a party and continuously tweeting/sharing links in support of the paying party and against the other.
