If you think of our material world, most of the things that are regarded as whimsical are not really very solid in a physical sense. Like mountains or flowers or fruit... they are diaphanous. When you play music..., It simply disappears. There is nothing left. For that reason it is one of the highest and most spiritual of the arts. It is the most transient... So, in a way, you might say that transiency is a mark of spirituality.. A lot of people think the opposite. That spiritual things are the ever-lasting things. But you see, the more things seem to be permanent, the more it tends to be lifeless.. Nothing is so dead as a diamond... Yet its permanency gets associated with the spiritual. Its only connection to the spiritual is its transparency... It is void of solidity and permanency. Everything is ever changing. Nothing stays the same. You may look the same from one day to the next and that is just a pattern. An illusion is a pattern. Your chemical makeup of water in your skin, from one day to the next may vary significantly. You may feel or be aware of these differences however, You will only recognize the pattern... of the water... flowing... Patterns you recognize in others.. familiarities... patterns.. This is the soul recognition.. The recognitions of patterns. To be Non Spiritual is to NOT recognize the pattern. The pattern of the real truth. Truth can not be pinned down, be solid or possessed.. The truth is free, transparent and ever changing :)
