If you thought it was a hard choice for the International Court of Justice whether to set the boundary between our country Peru and Chile was a hard choice. Then take a look at this, the territorial dispute between Vietnam and China among other asian powers in the East Sea well known in the western hemisphere as the South China Sea. Most notably Vietnam holds a historical account to back its claims on Spratly Islands (Quần đảo Trường Sa). I have to say regarding this issue i am siding with the Vietnamese people in their rightful claim on Spratly being in their cartography since well into the 18th and 19th centuries, most notably in 1838. Communist China has to get off their hands from expanding into the south. Cairo Declaration did not included Spratlys and the Treaty of San Francisco also listed the Spratlys not part of the territories to be given to China, that being said. Spratlys and Paracel belong to Vietnam!. To think on the Peru-Chile maritime border dispute its over, the issue has been settled and to me its fair enough that there is an equidistant line after 80 miles from boundary marker number one. Although it should had been from the coast. Regardless these issues we should feel thankful that there are no more maritime triangles in dispute so far. Now it is the time for us both civilized nations to get this issue over and take further steps to improve in our commerce , domestic and good diplomatic relations. God bless you all. ¡Que viva el Peru!.
