If you throw a frog in hot water it will jump out. But if you put the frog in cold water and turn the heat up, the frog will stay and get boiled. This is the very feeling I am having when I think how our government looks at the justice system. Our prime-minister used to be a prosecutor, but since he switched to politics he assumed a relaxed view of the independence of the judicial system. He made a political stand when he decided to keep in his government 5 ministers under judicial investigation. This was unprecedented and a strong pressure on the public opinion and the justice system. Today the prime-minister found wise to share his “personal” views about the trial of one of his ministers. This was also without precedence form the top executive position. The result was an indictment for 5 years [1]. This is the first time when an acting minister is indicted. Of course all promises of resignation was postponed. For the moment. The frog is not jumping out of the boiling pot.
