If you visit many soccer forums on FB you will realise that what makes professional sport so important in peoples lives is that it is a good substitute for war. It is inherently true that because of the high testesterone in males somehow the specie feels at each particular time it must be involved in a war of some sort. Because of the general peace in our country there is little to no chance at all of any member of our security forces let alone a civilian to be involved in a real war. So we turn to soccer, soccer is war. You get everything in a soccer forum, humour, anger, insults, the most vile words you have ever heard being said to another human being. Sometimes you even get threats of physical assault directed at a member of the opposing team. Most of the debates are nonsensical and silly and are only arguments for the sake arguing. If you are one person who likes arguments based on facts FB soccer forums are not for you. You will get a CAPS Utd supporter saying CAPS is bigger than Dynamos and a Chelsea supporter telling you John Terry is the best centre back in the world. Myself, I enjoy reading the nonsensical stuff they write in soccer forums, it provides me with good comic relief. I love soccer.
