If you want a terrific view of the city of Toronto, go to the top of the CN Tower. It has the highest observation deck in the world, more than 1,460 feet (446 meters) from the ground. You’re up so high that you might think you’re in an airplane. The entire tower rises 1,815 feet (553 meters) from the ground. Look up from almost anywhere in Toronto and you can see the CN Tower. CN stands for Canadian National Railways, the company that built the tower in the 1970s. Today, it’s Toronto’s most recognizable structure and a major tourist attraction. Radio and television signals are transmitted from it. Toronto is the largest city in Canada. It’s also the capital of the Canadian province of Ontario. It lies on the northwest shore of Lake Ontario. Toronto is Canada’s business and financial center. Many companies have headquarters there.
