If you want an extra enticement to join us for worship tomorrow morning (as if the opportunity to share the flesh and blood of your Redeemer for the forgiveness of sins isnt enough), heres a teaser from tomorrows sermon (based on the Gospel reading, John 1:1-18). So, having again heard of the grace of Christ’s birth among us, what do we do? We cling to Him. I know that doesn’t sound very spectacular, but what else can we do? Since God has taken our nature into Himself in Jesus born at Bethlehem, where else can we go? John tells us He is the Word - the Word that was in the beginning, through Whom all things were made. And He became flesh - where else can we go but to Him? John tells us that in Him was life - not biological life, the shifting around of proteins and cells and nutrients that only lasts so long and then ends - but life itself, divine life, the fullness of life that was, that is, and that always will be, that wells up eternally. And He became flesh - where else can we go but to Him? John tells us that He is light, the true light that lighteneth all men - the source of all knowledge and truth and grace, the means by which what can be known is known - and He became flesh - where else can we go but to Him?
