If you want to be part of an amazing entertainment extravaganza of live country/rockabilly/rock n roll good times, this might be for you. Im getting together a four piece band (4 for now), to play in and around the Fox Valley, performing an album Im currently writing along with covering classics like Rebel Rouser, Ballad of Ira Hayes, Yakety Yak, Tulepo Mississippi Flash, Wonderful World of Women etc etc. The concerts will be made up of a consistent rehearsed ACT, aiming to blow minds, show them something theyve never seen, and make people have the time of their lives. Isnt that the point? I see too many bands dwelling on themselves, and not the audience. This will be a interactive, bizarre, interesting experience for the fans. Thats what will make it successful, along with a promotional/marketing campaign Ive been working on for more than a year, so if youre worried about this going no where, I can assure you 100%, that it will not.... The purpose of this project is to make a real statement about what music is.... Certain things die, and some dead things are forgotten. I dont care what anyone says, country died in the 70s. Everything after that point I can only call pop. There was at least 60 amazing bands in the country scene between 1955 and 1975, with four to seven insanely skilled musicians in each. Seriously, I was into AC/DC for the longest time (before I found real country) , because Angus Young played the hottest licks in rock n roll history. But when I discovered all these FORGOTTEN country bands, I found like 200 Angus Youngs. There are thousands upon thousands of songs, that were once country, then forgotten, now considered rock n roll by todays standards, that were beautifully mastered, crafted and performed. There must have been centuries of accumulated practice by all these musicians, and it has all been forgotten. So my point, is to recognize their work, bring it back. These are sounds that no one has heard for 40 years. It was the pinnacle of country music, and even a pinnacle for the art of music itself. People love everything that was inspired by this music (Yes, even Zeppelin and AC/DC were influenced in some way by the likes of Del Reeves, Duane Eddy, Buddy Emmons) It had blues, rock n roll, bluegrass, folk, funk all fuzed into the greatest sounds of America. It engulfed the mainstream and it can do it again.
