If you want to change education, you cannot change it from within. We need people with real world experience outside of academia. As for knowledge of the Constitution, maybe Mr. Bostic should read it. In the Chamber candidates forum Tuesday, Mr. Bostic said that the Constitution prevented the board and district from removing Common Core which he opposes. I oppose Common Core but know that the Constitution actually supports removing it because it and other federal laws do not allow the federal government authority to set curriculum. As I pointed out to Mr. Bostic, many local school districts across the country ARE stopping Common Core and I will vote to do so also.
