Summer Concert Series on The BLVD still Rocking Hard to the Music Posted Date: 8/29/2014 8:00 AM The Sierra Toyota Scion All-American Concert Series, co-sponsored by BeX Bar & Grill, continues to entertain locals and visitors alike. Thursday, September 4, Hous Band will bring a rock and pop feel to The BLVD Bandstand stage, showcasing original songs written by lead vocalist Jen Housholder. The concert will begin at 6pm. Jen Housholder’s music has been inspired by the many different cultures she has experienced living in various locations across the United States. Much of her music has also been influenced by her service in the military. Previously a Blackhawk helicopter pilot in the Army Reserve, Housholder served two tours in the Middle East. In 2010, she founded Hous Band with the passion gained from these combined experiences. Jen has a mission to create music that evokes thought, reflection and action. She is driven with a purpose to touch lives and inspire individuals with a desire to make a difference. Hous Band members include Jen Housholder as songwriter and lead vocalist, Alex McKee on electric lead guitar, John Blanchard playing the drums and Jesse Davidson on bass. The band has performed at popular venues such as the House of Blues and The Roxy in West Hollywood, as well as Howl at the Moon in Universal City. They have also been a local favorite, playing at the 2014 Poppy Festival and the University of Antelope Valley. The weekly Farmers Market runs concurrent with the concert and will continue to draw in residents with its fresh produce and local vendors from 4 to 9 p.m. Visitors are able to shop and dine while enjoying live music on the Bandstand stage. The BLVD also offers more than 25 local retail businesses and 20 unique restaurants, as well as numerous options for entertainment including a cinema and bowling alley. Visitors are encouraged to take some time to explore The BLVD and see why it is considered the Antelope Valley’s premier location for an evening on the town.
