If you want to grow in Sikhi, choose your role models wisely. Do - TopicsExpress

If you want to grow in Sikhi, choose your role models wisely. Do not fall for the crowd-pleaser jokers like Harbhajan Mann who have no pride and courage in real Sikhi, has shorn hair, and yet wears a dastaar as an accessory to make his money from his singing and film professions. Misusing his name (to sing praises of GOD and have pride in HIM alone), such people will sing praises of just about anyone for money and fame. Slaves of glamour, professional deceptives – through misuse of Sikh image – are not worthy of being role models for Sikhs. Do not emulate his types, because sooner or later, you will lose your Sikhi altogether. Sikhi is a way for us to live an ideal life, as shown to us by our Sikh Gurus, and is not a part-time status or fashion statement. True role models are around you - those connected to Gurbani, Gurmat and Rehat - seek their example and find inspiration in them. If you find such examples hard to come by, then look no further than the Sikh Gurus who taught us what it takes to be called a True Sikh of the Guru.
