If you want to teach your kids how to love someone, music and how they interact with it is an amazing tool. Instead of promoting the purchase of singles or the latest genre craze, make them listen to entire records. Let them search for substance in the people they are willing to let soundtrack their time. It will force them to find artists theyll learn to truly adore and appreciate beyond the blowhole sound off of the Ryan Seacrest daily radio countdown. It will make them seek relationships that extent past the one hit wonder of one night stands. Not that we dont have those one hit songs that we love. They certainly define a moment in time to us. But if we didnt care enough about that artist to seek out more from them, they likely didnt affect us that much to begin with. I think that if people saw the subconscious pattern which they use to choose what music they listen to and how that pattern correlates to love, affection, and relationships they would be surprised. Music is a love affair that takes place in the mind. How we identify with it bleeds over into every aspect of our lives.
