If you were at the Tai Chi class on Tuesday, youll recall we spent all but the last 5 minutes of the class on warm ups. I do this on occasion. There is tremendous depth to the warm up exercises we do. Dont get hung up on Mr. Starrs use of the word toned here, as he more accurately suggests the word tuned. Thats a good way to look at it. Its funny, sometimes people will ask to learn more forms, when its all already present in the warm ups. Just sitting there waiting for you to explore. As for our strength training workouts, the warm up is equally deep. Those exercises are chosen very deliberately, and you can get a lot out of them if you focus. Next time youre in class, see how deep you can go in practicing the warm ups, and if you need guidance on anything, ask.
