If you were fortunate enough to attend Dr. Holger Perners talk at GNYOS last year, you learned a bit about some of the amazing Cypripediums that exist in northern Asia. Cypripedium tibeticum (the current name of the pictured plant) is found in western China, northern India and Bhutan. It prefers cool, near-alpine grassy mountainsides; has been cultivated in the eastern USA if kept in deep, sharply draining beds, kept dry in winter.
