If you would like to donate a dress or can not afford a prom dress - TopicsExpress

If you would like to donate a dress or can not afford a prom dress MUST READ!!!!! This is a repost with additional things in it.. I have gotten more dresses since I have posted this and I plan on getting more soon. Please share this post! - The average cost an AMERICAN teenager spends on prom is close to $2,000... Where we live in North East Mississippi the average cost an individual spends is about $1,000. (Dress price, splitting a ride, etc..) At my school I have personally heard at very least ten girls say they will not be attending prom... When I asked them why they simply said they did not have the money to spend on prom.. If theres 10 at my school then theres a lot more in our county. I researched different ways to cut cost on prom. I considered things to say to the school.... Forgetting all that I am is just a teenage girl and I have little voice to speak out. When researching I came across Prom Dress Drive on Dosomething In different places over the country I saw people doing dress drives for girls who do not have the money to afford a prom dress. I considered taking this up with school. Since I knew this would be so hard to accomplish I almost gave up.. I turned to my mom for advice... My mom and I brainstormed this idea that if I can get people to donate dresses we could give them to girls who need help... With each dress given a donation is asked to be made.. The money raised from the dresses will be donated to the Amory Food Pantry. This drive will most likely happen in February and March. Donations we raise will aware people of a much bigger cause. Please share this with your friends so they can also spread the word.. Teenage girls should all have a princess experience on their special this special night. Thank you for reading. Feel free to share and inbox me for any questions and information!
