If you would please take a moment to read this simple scripture which is powerful. With this in mind know this; at the root of all sin is (the sin) that infuriates God: It is the sin of idolatry. When you refuse to do what God asks of you, you are in effect saying to Him, No, I do not want you to rule over me but I am going to rule over myself. I choose to do what I want to do. If that is not idolatry, then nothing is. It was the singular most tragic sin in the lives of the Israelites and it still is today. Read through the Old Testament and you will repeatedly see the Israelites turning away from God to idolatry. Is it what way with you? Or, is your life committed to glorifying God through a life of following Him?
