If youi are going to travel and will use the travel sites to research and book your trip, do not use Expedia! My cousin made our room reservations with them. She was very specific as to our needs. She received the confirmation. When we arrived at the hotel our non-smoking handicap accessible double bed with rollaway reservation was was submitted by Expedia to the hotel as smoking double bed. It took 3 1/2 hours on the phone - LITERALLY - before Expedia refunded the charges. They cared more about their money then finding us a room that fit our needs. Three redirects of people to call and we got this knucklehead who did not believe us, had to speak to the hotel manager before taking action, and then did not listen to what we needed despite repeating it at least 5 times. The hotel manager found a room that was non-smoking but not accesible. (The accessible one was on the 2nd floor. Great, if the property had an elevator. Ever try to push a wheelchair up steps with a person sitting in it? Yeah, right!) There were no rooms anywhere unless we went back to our original location of beyond, (45 min. away)which defeated the purpose of being close to the airport as we departed starting at 4:30AM. My cousins and I got 3 hours of sleep, maybe. The good thing -- we were only charged $50. Heres the final kick in the teeth. We wanted to be close to the airport at a hotel that had a shuttle so our cousin whos flight didnt leave until 8:43AM could sleep. First person out had to be at the airport by 4:30AM. Imagine our surprise when we were told the shuttle didnt start running until 6:30AM. We could have stayed where we were originally and had a great nights rest instead of this nightmare. The manager said they had problems all day long with Expedias resevations. It wasnt just us. So avoid Expedia like the plague. Ask lots of questions about the timing of services. -
