If your community group works with young people. This funding - TopicsExpress

If your community group works with young people. This funding scheme may be for you: O2 Think Big aims to find young people aged 13-25 with great ideas and help them turn their ideas in to reality by providing funding, training and support. Projects have to help the community or tackle a problem with society (projects that help just one person will not be accepted). The more bold and creative the idea, the more likely it will be funded (please note that a salary for applicants cannot be supported). Grants between £300 and £2,500 are available. Match funding is not a requirement of the programme. Projects must be up and running within three months of applying and finish within six months (extensions can be granted in certain circumstances). Applications cannot be made directly for £2,500. Applicants must first do a £300 project. If the project goes "really well" O2 may invite the applicant to apply for more. First stage funding includes: • £300 cash for the project. • Training and support. • A Think Big merchandise pack. • Communications tools. • Support from the team of O2 helpers. Projects that are invited to be taken further could receive: • Up to £2,500 cash for the project (given in stages). • Free O2 broadband for a year. • Support from O2 mentors. • The chance to win gig tickets and merchandise for the project group. • The opportunity to progress on to the Alumni programme. O2 will not support projects that: • Aim to convert people to a certain religion. • Are being done to make living. • Promote political parties. • Could be dangerous. Applications can be submitted at any time. The decision panel sits monthly, guaranteeing a quick response for applicants. O2 Think Big will also give advice and assistance with applications. Further information is available from the O2 Think Big website, which also provides details of local projects. o2thinkbig.co.uk/
