If your idea of rescue is picking up homeless animals and then calling me and saying Hay i found blah blah blah, where can i bring them to you? Dont be shocked when i say I cant take them. Im beyond full and rescue cant afford anymore right now. Rescue is much more than picking up the animal... The work hasnt even begun! Rescue is when ur up with sick pups all night praying they wont die before morning because u cant afford an emergency call. Rescue is getting up every 2 hours and bottle feeding puppies thru the night. Getting up an hour early to take them to a foster so you can then working a full days work on 3 hrs of sleep only to start the cycle again that night. Rescue is cleaning maggots out of kittens eyes hoping they wont lose their sight. Rescue is sleeping in the barn with a colicing horse that was left abandoned in a dry lot for days and 300+lbs under weight. Or begging for a sling because a horse goes down and cant get up because he is so weak from neglect and abuse. Rescue is fundraising when ud rather be with family so that u can pay the vet bills so u can help save more. Rescue is much more than picking up the animals in need... That is only the beginning of the rescue. If you really want to do rescue... Offer to foster till we have room. Pay for their shots or spay/neuter surgery, Offer to volunteer to transport animals to other rescues that help us with the pet overpopulation. Be patient!!! We dont want to tell u no.. We want to help save them all, but sometimes we have no choice. Sorry... Im just tiered of being judged as a bad person when i cant help. I CANT... Im only one person with more than their share of stuff... I refuse to become part of the problem by taking on more than i can handle. And compared to others in rescue i dont even begin to compare to what the dedicate to help save animals... So unless u work full time, start and run a non profit, have more than two very active kids, a full time farm and have more than 30 animals of at least 6 different species u care for at ur home. SHUT UP!
