If your spouse is not providing a safe place (not a residence) I mean a safe place away from the hate and struggle and negativity of the outside world, yall need to check your friendship. Ive learned a lot of people arent even a person to their spouse. Theyre just a list of tasks or obligations like baby watcher, dish washer, car pooler, dinner cooker.... There are no more interests in their interests. Its all about whose assignment is whose. Now everything you know about your spouse is their routine, not the essence of them. Be careful with that, because someone else sees that they are a person with want needs and desires and dreams. I bless God that Derrick Anthony Marshall Jr see our friendship and where we began before dating when we were just best friends. We see that through hurt, disagreement, tragedy, and fears, and it allows us to never lose being a friend to each other. It should be so good that nobody but God can treat you better than your spouse, not mama, not daddy, not your sisters, your brothers, not your bestie, not your pastor. No one should hold you in higher regard and no one should be able to meet your need for love, affection, peace, and happiness better than your spouse. People get that misconstrued.
