If youre a DC geek like me, this news should leave you with an odd mix of anticipation & fear. I mean, I love the idea of a SANDMAN movie, regardless of whether its based on Wesley Dodds (he of the golden mask, fedora & gas-gun) or Morpheus (also known as Dream of the Endless), and something that uses the KINGDOM COME version of Shazam (or his old identity, Captain Marvel) rather than the one we saw on the tv show of the late 70s sounds really promising . . . but Im such a Lynda Carter fan that its hard for me to imagine anyone else in that tiara. . . . Then theres the fact that DCs gonna have to work EXTRA hard to get the memory of Ryan-Reynolds-as-Green-Lantern out of my head. What I REALLY want is a NEW TEEN TITANS movie, one that draws from the work that Chris Clairemont did with the team back in the 80s (back when that title was outselling even the likes of X-MEN over at Marvel) . . . maybe something like The Judas Contract, which revealed that teenage rock-mover, Tara Markhov, as a spy for Deathstroke. . . . Besides, just IMAGINE what could be done with an intergalactic hottie like Starfire!!
