If youre concerned about things like police response to Eric - TopicsExpress

If youre concerned about things like police response to Eric Garner (killed in NYC), you really have to put the ultimate blame on the last couple of decades of excessive laws/rules - put in place, generally, by statist Democrats - who then also buy off police unions with pension/benefit goodies. [And poor Mr. Garners situation/background was much different than the Fergusons Brown/Wilson matter.] The path to the NY mans killing directly derived from stupid laws about selling friggin _CIGARETTES_. THIS WAS NOT ABOUT RACE (maybe at basic confrontation level) BUT ABOUT WHOLESALE STUPIDITY OF EXCESSIVE RULES IN A FREE SOCIETY. Yep, a couple of cigarettes. Not pot - and I wont even get into the silly drug war morass. This here is stuff thats been common/legal for ages. Is it health to smoke? Apparently so - in NYC, its healthier than selling cigarettes. So whats next, 32oz sodas? Twinkies? Bacon? Salt? Just because somethings not good for you, should we put a whole enforcement regime around it? Pro tip: if you dont want the results of big government, stop voting for it!! And if you dont like someone doing something personal, dont do it yourself (nor vote against that person doing it - with a hint to GOP on personal life matters). When there are a horde of trivial rules/laws, eventually some or all get enforced - and negative consequences can and do happen in LE entanglements, by people feeling they have to justify their job and follow work rules. I know NYPD has a buncha cowboys & systemic corruption and that there are many better PDs nationwide - but if you fix the root cause these byproducts decrease drastically, because the cause for initial contact/confrontation now has no basis.
