If youre drinking this holiday weekend, dont drive. If you need a ride, call Tipsy Tow. The popular service, provided by AAA Oklahoma, is available for the Labor Day holiday weekend. Beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, AAA is offering free rides and tows within a 15-mile radius from your point of pickup. Drivers will be taken directly home. The service is available through 4 a.m. Tuesday in the Tulsa metro area as well as Oklahoma City, Bartlesville, Enid, Lawton, Ardmore, Muskogee, Tahlequah and Shawnee. Its free to both AAA members and nonmembers. “The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tells us someone is killed in a drunk driving crash every 51 minutes on average throughout the year,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “Over the Labor Day weekend, that statistic jumps to one drunk driving fatality every 34 minutes.” To use Tipsy Tow, call AAA Oklahoma at (800) 222-4357 and ask for Tipsy Tow. The cars owner and one passenger will be taken home and the vehicle will be towed free of charge.
