If youre reading this, then please hear me out when I ask that if dont wish to tip your server, dont go out to eat. It sounds harsh, but when we make $4 an hour, the majority of our pay comes from the gratuity our guests leave us. I cant speak for other restaurants in the area, but I know that my coworkers work REALLY hard to ensure you have an all-around wonderful lunch, or fantastic dinner with us. They really dont HAVE to go way above and beyond, but they consistently do. Tips are also like an evaluation of our service. When theyre left $2 on $100 checks or $3 on a $50 or nothing at all, it leads them to believe that something was done incorrectly during their guests time at the restaurant, and then theyre sad and sad is not okay. If you go out to eat and youre given excellent service, please...please leave your server a tip that reflects the appreciation you have for the hard work they put in to make your dining experience that much better for you.
