If youre someone who never really got The Dead, & the Garcia, Weir, Lesh mesh connection, & why millions packed stadiums stateside & beyond to experience the legend, then grab 6 minutes, chillax & crank up this short video. Its not a classic Avalon Ballroom number, & Pigs long gone, Jerry doest look that heathy, (yet happy!) clad in a (rare) red t-shirt, kicking off the second set In Buffalo in July of 1986. What an amazing force of nature he was. The video has some issues, & the winds in their faces, yet theyre game warriors none-the-less, booting up the good old, (& only slightly arthritic ), Grateful Dead magic for the assembled. What a long strange trip it was. ;-)
