If youre unaware, officers in San Fransisco confronted a man carrying a pistol. His actions resulted in their shooting of him, and his death. After the fact it was discovered that the pistol the man was brandishing was an air gun. First of all, Im glad no officers were injured. I cannot imagine the pain of having to shoot someone like this and find out its merely their effort at assisted suicide. I hope that the officers involved dont take that pain home with them. Second of all, regardless of whether or not this person was suffering from a mental illness (you would have to be if you put yourself in this situation), he damn well got what he deserved. These ASSHOLES running around, staging protests and generally acting like civilized versions of the THUGS they worship, had better recognize that their own actions can result in something very similar. Im not saying this man had anything to do with whats going on around this country, but its becoming an epidemic, a sickness of RIGHTS over RESPONSIBILITY. We need to teach our children that without responsibility, they have no Rights. There is no universal truth that says you can do anything you want and get away with it, because we have an authority and responsibility to keep them in check if they cannot do it themselves. We delegate that authority to the police, but we cannot ultimately delegate that responsibility, for it lies with us and how we teach our young, and any others in our sphere of influence. My thoughts and prayers for the safety of every officer who goes out today and tries to make this world a little bit safer for the rest of us. Thank you and God bless. (Rich)
