If youve never heard this song, it is amazing. Last night I was honored to be able to officiate a Wedding Vow renewal ceremony. Every wedding and vow renewal ceremony reminds me of one thing...the love the Christ has for his Church. (thats you and me, not a building or denomination) The words of the wedding vows are relayed in this song, but heres the twist...Christ Himself is singing this song to us, His Bride. I think for all the symbols we have in Christianity the wedding is one my favorite. The coming together of 2 individuals into 1 body. Its not just something people made up because its neat, Christ instituted marriage as a symbol of His relationship to us. He pursues us with his love. And when we finally accept Him, we who were once separated from God is now joined together as one.....to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part. And then after every wedding is a celebration. Well, believe it or not, the Bible tells us that one day in Heaven, when the Bride (the Church) is finally together with Christ; there is going to be a celebration like you have never experienced before in Heaven! You think youve thrown some awesome parties?? Wait until the God of the Universe, the Maker of Heaven and of Earth throws a party of His Son Christ and His Bride the Church!!!
