If youve never worked for Hooters, you probably look down on those of us who have. Weve been called all sorts of names and most of the time we let it roll off our backs. But, for those of you who have never had the privilege of working for this awesome, fun company- let me tell you a little bit about us, as a retired Hooters Girl with numerous years experience under my belt (ahem, ugly brown apron covering those tiny orange shorts 😉). We are a family. A sisterhood. It sounds cheesy, but its true. We are single mothers. We are girls trying to pay for college. We spend countless hours in the gym trying to combat the effects of the chicken wings we swore we werent going to eat. We come in just in time for jump start for the morning shift, then end up closing because someones child got sick and needed to go home. We sit down and talk to people we probably would have never even had the opportunity to meet and make amazing friends and connections because of that. It looks easy because we MAKE it look easy. Its our job. We come in and smile looking our absolute best no matter what is going on in our lives because happy and perky is part of our job description. We cant hide behind a computer. But, again, more than anything- we are sisters. When one of us hurts, we all hurt. I am so thankful for Facebook because I am able to keep up with my Hooters family that is spread all over the world now. I get to share in the excitement of your engagements, feel a part of your wedding days, watch your children grow up, mourn with you through loss, and pray for you no matter the years or miles between us. That being said- Mandy Thornton Hargraves embodies that spirit that is expected of one of our kind and in this battle, we all come together to pray over her and declare that our Lord has His hands on her and she WILL come out on the other side of this triumphant and healed. Please, please pray for this sweet girl. #OnceAHootersGirl ❤️
