If you’re anything like us, you likely see posts from friends in other towns raving about some amazing band they saw playing in someone else’s living room, but you’ve never understood why that doesn’t happen around here… well, occasionally it does. Like tonight (Tuesday) for instance, Simon Joyner and Wooden Wand will be doing an intimate living room show, right here in your neighborhood. Simon comes from the same scene as Bright Eyes, in fact Conor calls him an influence (as does Beck). Wooden Wand, aka James Jackson Toth, stands at the intersection of folk and psychedelic, seemingly deciding between following Capt. Beefheart or Jandek at his most melodic. Tickets are only $20.
