Ignorant religious fanatics in this country, just like Islamic religious fanatics in the Middle East such as the Taliban and ISIS, are going to utterly destroy education if something isnt done to stop them! As more and more ultra conservative Tea Party and Libertarian candidates pull the wool over the eyes of uneducated Americans who tend to be fundamentalist Christians anyway and come to power in local, state and national political offices across this country and pull one political party farther and farther to the right, more and more idiocies are going to be enshrined into law! Uneducated people tend to believe whatever they want to believe and what the people who know the right words to use to get their support tell them they ought to believe! The fact is, if people would read a few credible and well researched and documented history books, they would know that the Constitution of the United States has always been called the Godless Constitution for God isnt mentioned in the original document! And the Founding Fathers ranged from Deist, Secular Humanists, Unitarians, agnostics and outright atheist to Anglicans, Puritans and conservative Christians of other sects and denominations and just about every belief system and stance on religion in between! If you dont believe it, try reading some of Thomas Jeffersons writings, John Adams writings, Ben Franklins writings, Thomas Paines Revolutionary pamphlets and writings, Ethan Allens writings and on, and on, and on, ad infinitude! Dont just take the word of some religious fanatics half-truths and outright lies who is trying his best to brainwash you and enlist you in the ignorant fanatical army promoting his hidden agendas! This country is not, nor has it ever been a Christian nation and the Founding Fathers did everything they could to erect a wall of separation between church and state! They did NOT want the state to mess with religion, nor religion to be corrupted by messing with the state! If something isnt done to stop this growing national trend, we could very definitely find ourselves in the not too distant future in the very midst of one political party redefining, rewriting, and totally changing the wonderful principles upon which our sane and rational Founding Fathers brought to fruition in this country. Actually the very people who are pushing the erasure of the line between church and state are the very people who will live to regret it when one religious ideology dominates the government and they force all other sects and denominations to drop their beliefs and follow theirs! The separation of church and state is a cornerstone of this democratic nation and a bulwark against those who would rob one religious group to augment another! Separation of church and state is the safest measure any government ever put into place to protect the religious freedom and beliefs of ALL Americans, not the narrow view of a few! Separation of church and state has been put into place in this country to protect the CHURCH, not the reverse! When there is a co-mingling of church and state, the CHURCH is always the entity that is harmed! There is even a Biblical admonition to the effect: Render unto Caesar that which Caesars and unto God that which is Gods! Think about it!
