Ignoring Truth It seems that truth’s important Without it we’d be dead Just try not eating veggies But arsenic instead The truth just can’t be messed with No matter what we feel And just ’cause we don’t like it It cannot be repealed The truth cannot be altered As much as we might try ‘Cause if we were to change it It then would be a lie A map must show the street names The way they really are Or we’d be lost forever While driving in our car And when we see the doctor Who gives us pills to take We can’t instead eat candy Our lives might be at stake I guess that we should search for And seek to find what’s true Instead of fabricating A selfish, smug world view But still we hate the notion That truth in fact exists ‘Cause we would much more rather Do what the heck we wish ~
