Ii have been meaning to do this for some time now so here they are. I have added three (Parts 2-4) new updated 15 minute additions to the original youtube video titled Bipolar Disorder and the Working Musician. Now a series, the videos chronicle the road from denial of Bipolar Disorder to acceptance of it, from no meds to acceptance of meds and back to no meds due to serious health issues and the ups and downs of that journey for me personally. The videos also deal with the side effects of medications on music/art/improvisation and ways to combat the zombie feelings and find inspiration through Melody, Rhythm and Harmony (music theory) and/or a more scientific math based practical approach to music. Videos (2-4) then deal with unmedicated techniques/methods I have found helpful in reducing/treating symptoms of mania through relaxation, breathing, eating, sleep, meditation, awareness etc. The last video (part 4) includes a conversation with Kaitlin Dibble and her experiences with bipolar disorder as it relates to me and may be helpful to others not afflicted with BPD but who live with, know, love, care about or are related to someone with this mental illness. All the videos touch on subjects of: Mania, addiction, impulsivity, medication, recovery and awareness. Here is the FIRST video in the series recorded in 2012 watch the whole series through for the whole story till now. Thank you to all my friends, family, loved ones, fans and work associates who have been so amazing, patient, supportive, caring and wondrous throughout all of this!-Jason https://youtube/watch?v=g2WPlWA5w6I&spfreload=10
