Ile-Oluji crisis: Cleric says youths acted on rumour Bishop of the Cathedral of St. Peters Anglican Church, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Rt. Rev. Samuel Adekunle, on Saturday, lamented the recent crisis that rocked the town over the speculations about the relocation of a Federal Polytechnic in the town. He urged residents of the town especially youths, to always seek the truth before they act. The Bishop gave the advice during the funeral service for Mrs Victoria Adesoji, the wife of the Chairman of the Ondo State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria. Adekunle cautioned the youth against peddling of falsehood, and noted that development can only take place in an atmosphere where people live in peace and harmony with one another. The bishop said, "It is disheartening that with the level of education of our people, some people could act on rumour to cause confusion in the entire town for three consecutive days." The cleric noted that the educated elite from the town were too far from the people particularly in terms of need. He called on them to establish a forum to help the less privileged in the society by supporting the youth educationally. He added, "More than 90 per cent of the Ile- Oluji natives are highly educated, we should not rely on rumour. The educated ones are too far from the people, you should come home and help the less privileged and the youth of the society." He described death as inevitable for every human being, and urged the people to live everyday as if tomorrow will never come. He also called on the people to be closer to their creator and described the late Madam Adesoji as a real Christian and a caring wife and mother. The funeral service was attended by leaders and members of the ACN in Ondo state and across South West states.
