Ilkley last night (what a gig!) Morley tonight... Huge thanks to everyone who came along to The Adventures Of AK at the Ilkley Literature Festival last night. And they came mob-handed! A crowd of 500 packed the Kings Hall, even surging into the literary mosh pit during the interval to pat Buster and get copies of my book signed. I was astonished by the turn-out. And very flattered. The organisers had to drag me off stage after almost three hours, with the audience baying for still more. (Does this happen to Margaret Atwood, I wonder? Or Will Self?) Im particularly grateful to the Ilkley Lit Fest for a superbly organised and properly promoted event. (Youd be amazed by the number of gigs I do for which the organisers, having booked me, then fail to let anyone know Im on).
